V7 OFFERS CASH FOR OLD ELECTRONICS VIA ONLINE TRADE-IN AND RECYCLING PROGRAM

Clover Environmental Solutions Brings Convenience and Expertise to Ingram Micro House Brand Electronics Recycling Program

Santa Ana, Calif., 24 February 2009 -- V7, the exclusive house brand for Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) and provider of premier computer accessories worldwide, today launched an online trade-in program to reward customers for responsibly recycling old electronics.

The V7 Trade-In and Recycling Program is being supported by V7 recycling partner Clover Environmental Solutions, a division of Clover Technologies Group, and is powered by Gazelle, the nation’s leading reCommerce company.  The program is available to all North America customers at www.v7-world.com/environment.

Through the service, customers are able to trade used electronics for cash or gift cards, or use their reward to make a charitable donation. Customers can also send in used products without economic value to be responsibly recycled through rigorously selected partners. Free shipping and packaging are offered on many products and all personal information is thoroughly removed from all items.

“V7 has always taken issues related to corporate environmental management seriously, and this program expands our capabilities to a much broader range of products,” said Kevin Prewett, vice president of vendor management for North America, Ingram Micro Inc.

Products will be accepted from more than a dozen consumer electronics categories, including LCD monitors, GPS devices, MP3 players, cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras, camcorders, laptops and game consoles by any manufacturer, as well as all V7-branded products that require recycling.

Prewett added, “Just as Ingram Micro is regarded as the best way to deliver technology to our customers, the V7 Trade-In and Recycling Program is designed to optimize our customers’ return of products when they reach the end of economic life.”

“Clover is proud to partner with V7 on this project,” said Brian Regan, executive vice president of Clover Environmental Solutions.  “Our mission is to provide our customers with industry-leading environmental solutions and world-class service.  We are pleased to be able to expand the V7 environmental management program and are committed to serving V7 customers.”

To use the V7 trade-in service:

  • Customers go to www.v7-world.com/environment to calculate a product's trade-in value.
  • The customer prints a pre-paid shipping label and mails in their product. Many orders also qualify for free packaging.
  • The item is received and inspected to eliminate personal data and confirm value. Once inspection is complete, the customer’s compensation is rewarded within 10 to 14 days.

“By rewarding people for trading in products that reach their end of use, while enabling responsible recycling of those that reach their end of life, this partnership will encourage V7 customers to become eco-friendly consumers,” said Israel Ganot, CEO of Gazelle. “We look forward to working with V7 and powering this comprehensive new solution for their customers.”
